Dealing with American Piano Supply Company

About 15 years ago when I tried to get a catalogue from them it was
impossible. Several letters back and forth produced no results...
They: "send letterhead stationary".
Me: "that's one of the things I may purchase from you once I have
the catalogue!"
They: no response.
Me: send my check back.
They did; I've been very happy with Schaff exclusively ever since and
recommend _them_ to anyone in the business. Schaff doesn't like to deal
with the general public either. However, a few years ago I had an
urgent need for a particular product and had a friend taking a daughter
to college in the Chicago area. I asked him if he'd be willing to stop
by Schaff on his way, he did, and happily told me of the friendly and
cordial treatment (and mini tour) that he received. That buys
loyalty - paranoia doesn't.
