Organ Rally in Temecula, California this weekend, May 6 & 7.
The Southern California Chapter of AMICA will hold an organ rally in
Old Town Temecula this Saturday and Sunday. We will be playing from
10-4 both days. There will be large organs placed throughout town,
along with monkey organs here and there.
Mike Ames will have his DeCap Dutch Street Organ, the Wassons and the
Porters will be there with their large organs, Henk Van Gaale will have
his large Dutch Street Organ, plus some extras, the Nix Limonaire will
be there, the Westcott Pell organ on a mini-fire truck will be around,
as will Ron Wolf with his Verbeeck. Jack Conway will have a calliope
and a Perlee, The Whitneys will be there with a Perlee Monkey Organ,
and possibly the Schacks with their instruments. Al & Linda Nielsen
will be playing their monkey organ, and there may be others who show up
to play one or both days.
Come join the fun...if you missed it last year you can make up for
that this year, and if you were there, you know how much fun we had.
Be sure to say hello. Let us know you heard about it on MMD!
From the I-15, take the Rancho California Road exit towards
Temecula, continue on this road to Front Street and you will find us
there in Old Town Temecula...
A note of thanks to Tom Grace who keeps me on the ball about getting
notices into the MMD... It helps.
If you like the old instruments, you may wish to join the Automatic
Musical Instruments Collectors Association (AMICA). We are a group of
collectors interested in roll and book playing instruments, from small
monkey organs to huge dance organs, and all the sizes in between and
reproducing pianos. For information, call Frank at 818-884-6849 Visit
