Report on Roll Recutting Projects
By Dick Hack

Following is an update on past, present, and future roll projects.

Mills Violano:

Rolls are now being manufactured. These include extra rolls to fill
out our regular roll inventory, to complete our backorders, and to ship
rolls to our project subscribers.

There were 35 runs on back order (420 rolls!) at the factory as of last
month due to another large project that had to be completed last year.
Shipments should be caught up within the next 60 days. We should have
all Violano rolls on our current list in stock for immediate shipment,
within 30 days.

Duo-Art 176-note reproducing pipe organ rolls:

Subscribers have received 119 rolls to date. There are now 55 more
masters at Play-Rite waiting to be recut. This should be in several
months. This project has been sold out; however, we have one set of
these rolls available (200 rolls, with 119 available now) due to the
passing of one of our subscribers. Please contact me for further
information.

  Future projects:

If there is enough interest we will recut 116-note Aeolian pipe
organ rolls, probably 150 to 200 in the set. These rolls should be
available toward the end of the year. Please notify me if you want
to participate in this probable "once in a lifetime" project.

Pianolin and Wurlitzer Harp rolls are scheduled to be run toward the
end of this year, or possibly early next year. There will be about
30 to 50 Pianolin rolls in the set.

Harp roll quantities still have to be determined, but there will be
at least 30 rolls recut, most of which have never been recut before.

North Tonawanda, Artizan and B.A.B. rolls will be recut if there is
enough interest. Please contact me if you want rolls for any of
these formats. Thank you!
