Hi, After many years of searching in Belgium, France, UK and Holland,
and almost having given up on the idea altogether, I finally have my
own Duo-Art! I got one of Brian Chesters' pedal-electric Duo-Arts.
It needs a lot of work but it's solid and sound.
Could someone check what year it was built? The piano case bears
the inscription S11529. The plate is labelled: "Steck" and "Aeolean
Company". The soundboard bears the number l0 31 21. The stack has
a label, "made in Hayes Middlesex".
If this is supposed to be one of the lesser quality UK or USA batches
I read about on MMD I guess I'm lucky, because it produces a nice round
tone and I can hear no real difference with my Steck Gotha pumper. Can
anyone shed some light on its age and origin?
Thanks,
