Songs You Never Want To Hear Again
By John Farrell

Whenever I find a stash of rolls in a junk shop, without fail
"The Rosary" will be lurking somewhere in the pile.

I remember once staying with Harry Garrison in Cincinnati (the locals
pronounce it 'Sin Sin Nadda') in company with several other roll
collectors. Harry took us to a building where the rooms were stuffed
from floor to ceiling with thousands upon thousands of piano rolls. On
that occasion I found no fewer than nine copies of the wretched Rosary,
each on a different label.

It is probably the most miserable tune I have ever heard in my life and
often wonder why so many piano rolls of it were sold.
