Several times I have seen W. W. Grainger suggested as a source for
mechanical parts. I have seen their catalogs and they do have a lot
of stuff. However, I don't know about the stores in your neck of the
woods but the one in Vestal, NY, (Broome County) will not sell to
private individuals. You must either establish a commercial account
with them or find a friend in business to buy your parts for you.
I would be interested in any creative ways to deal with them.
Small Parts Inc., which is also on-line at http://www.smallparts.com/,
will sell to anyone as far as I know. Incidentally, the owner of Small
Parts owns a large "Dutch" organ called the Waterpoorter, I believe.
It is a Gavioli of 89 keys, later rebuilt by Marenghi, and he does have
several very nice CDs of it for sale.
