I am in the process of restoring a Violano for a friend of mine that is
missing a number of parts that are not available from Terry Haughawout.
Please contact me directly if you have any of the following items that
you would be willing to sell:
1. an original feeder motor with flywheel and couplings
(this one has a modern motor and a PVC coupling),
2. a lubrication cover for the feeder,
3. a rotary run/stop/rewind switch,
4. a solenoid assembly that interfaces with the hammer rail
on the right side,
5. the violin mute arm, and
6. a bow motor governor assembly.
I have another Violano that I can use as a pattern for making some
of these parts, but I would like to use originals if I can find them.
In addition, the base casting for the finger head assembly is crumbling
at the joint that holds the upper violin support assembly. Before
I start to machine a piece to replace this section of the casting, does
anyone out there have a spare casting they could part with?
This is probably not the last call for parts that you will see from me
on this project, but these are the significant stumbling blocks that
I have encountered during the initial tear-down. Thanks for your help.
