Little Willow Whistle
By Horst Mohr

Hello John Kleinbauer, thanks for your article about the little
organ pipe. It reminds me of my childhood.

When I was a boy we used to make flutes from willow twigs. With our
pocket knives we carved the holes and, after knocking the bark for a
while, we could separate it from the core. The mouth piece was made
as you described. It is pleasant memory. (See also Salizional.)

Best regards,

Horst Mohr
