MMDers -- In the early 1970's, my dad owned an Esso gas station
which also did garage repairs. A customer could not pay the hundreds
of dollars for the work done to his auto, and offered instead to swap
him a Story & Clark reed organ (of Chicago, who also made the Orpheus
player organ). When we all saw it, we knew it was a good deal. It was
in perfect working condition after the bellows were releathered. It's
cathedral facade reaches all the way to the 7' ceilings. It's quite
a thing to see.
They now wish to sell it as none of the kids have the room for it,
and it will be placed on eBay in a short time to see what bites.
It's serial #667-45759 and the on the back of keyboard is
"Anderson - 45759".
Can any MMDer give me a date of manufacture and a fair-price estimate
as to what dad should start the bidding at? It is a fully functional
instrument. I have photos. By the way, there's very little mentioned
about it in the Bowers encyclopedia.
