Book "Making More Wooden Mechanical Models"
By Joyce Brite
I found an intriguing book at the local library. It is called "Making
More Wooden Mechanical Models", by Alan and Gill Bridgewater (Popular
Woodworking Books, 2000). The book shows how to make mechanical models
-- out of wood! It's not mechanical music but the principles of making
wooden gears and other mechanisms may be applied to some mechanical
music machines.
I have scanned the cover. The URL is:

The three models shown on the cover are, from left to right: a film
advancing mechanism, the Wonderful Wilmhurst Machine, and a six valve
radial engine. Other models in the book include:
Steam crank slider mechanism
Differential pulley block
Excentric squirrel fan
Wheel and worm gear mechanism
Universal joint
Camshaft valve
Water life pump
Lever and ratchet mechanism
Screw jack
Bicycle chain machine
