Hi All, Player-Care is happy to announce the Internet release of
George Bogatko's great new CD of nickelodeon music, 'Something Old,
Something New'. The CD contains ten (10) of George's own compositions
from the Capitol 'O' roll #O-1049 ("New Chicago - Vol. 1") and ten
(10) tunes found on the Capitol 'O' roll, #O-905 "Rompin' & Stompin'"
(courtesy of Gottschalk Music). Both 'O' rolls are available through
the Player Piano Co., in Wichita KS, and Gottschalk Music in Champaign
IL.
All of the odd numbered tunes are original compositions for the
nickelodeon or arrangements of popular tunes of the day, and exhibit
George's many and varied talents. Truly 'art in musical form', the CD
embodies not only the soul of its creator, it also takes the listener
back to the 'Chicago' jazz/blues era. The music was played on George's
own nickelodeon build-up, and was recorded at his home in Westfield,
NJ.
Uniquely interesting and quite entertaining, George's tunes capture
the flavor of the era and add to it a musical style that can only be
described as "Bogatko" jazz/blues. The ten tunes from "Rompin' &
Stompin'" fill the even spaces on the CD with musically colorful, well
arranged performances that round out this marriage of 'old' and 'new'
nickelodeon recordings.
