Jefferson Claude Deagan & the Vibraphone
By Arvid Genius, forwarded

-- forwarded message, please reply to sender and MMD --

Dear Jody Kravitz, I'm e-mailing you because I am working on writing
a book about the history of the vibraphone (also called Vibraharp).
I am living in Norway, have been a professional musician for many years
and still own and play a beautiful tuned Deagan vibraharp.

I found your name on the Internet in my search for information about
the J. C. Deagan company in Chicago, which I understand has been
acquired by Yamaha. In the 1970s, I had a personal friendship with Mr.
Hal Trommer, who at that time was sales manager for the Deagan company.
Unfortunately I recently learned that Mr. Trommer has passed away.

I understand that you have family connection to Deagan? Any information
would be greatly appreciated. There has been much misinformation about
the origin of the vibraharp, but I know that it was a Deagan origin!
Hope to hear from you.

Sincerely,
Arvid Genius, Klauvsteinen 115,
5146 Fyllingsdal-Bergen,
Norway
