Darwin Tuttle wrote and discussed his 21 1/4" Symphonion music box with
the German stenciling, which Robbie correctly translated, I believe. In
Darwin's posting, he inquired about additional disks for his machine.
Barry Johnson will furnish reproduction music box disks for this
machine if there is sufficient interest and volume of orders to justify
the tooling time necessary to produce them. The last time I mentioned
the subject of tooling up for a different size disk run with Barry the
minimum quantity was 12, with an additional modest tooling charge as I
recall. Barry's mailing address is 2423-F Old Middlefield Way, Mountain
View, CA 94043.

[ The slogan is "Sobald die Glocke hier erklingt, Die Marke
[ aus dem Kasten springt." I proposed, "The brand jumps out
[ when the bell sings out!"
[
[ Jurgen Goering kindly told me that I "slightly missed the Marke
[ (pardon the pun)", because 'Marke' in this old slogan connotes a
[ coin or token. That makes translation even more difficult, but
[ I'll try to preserve the humor of both the modern and old meanings,
[ 'trademark' and 'coin' (think of the Deutschmark):
[
[ "When the bell sings out the mark jumps out!"
[
[ There's yet another possible meaning in this subtle German pun:
[ in Austria 'die Maerke' also means a monogram. Maybe when you
[ drop in the coin and the interior light comes on, the monogram
[ on the back of the glass also jumps out at you ! -- Robbie :-)
