Dale, The Lindner Piano has been out of production for quite some
time. I ran into one here in Minnesota that was given to a retired
missionary. Same problem: broken plastic spring clips. After much
research and many e-mails to the UK and other techs, the consensus was:
parts not available.
So, to fix this piano, the retired missionary (who has virtually no
money from the church for his retirement), was making a new balance
rail to measurements I gave him, for the spring steel that the keys
clip to. He's got a few good woodworking tools and is pretty competent
with them. I assume he either made it work or got disgusted with it
and threw it out, since it was given to him, and he couldn't afford to
pay me to do the work.
Another example of how plastic can't be the cure-all for everything.
