I am not the one who judged a piano for someone else by a picture
[000210 MMDigest]. eBay auction has had several small nickelodeons
posted for sale by dealers with photos. I have found that photographs
usually enhance the actual instrument.
I have a real problem with dealers that say an instrument is in
excellent restored condition when it has rust on the tuning pins, a
non-original cabinet, new art glass that is not even close to the
original, holes cut in the top so you can view the instrument, and
other problems.
I have been stung buying two very expensive instruments on the
Internet. Someday I will learn not to trust everyone.
My view of restored indicates that an instrument has new strings,
hammers, new valves, new leather, new everything with all the original
parts intact, looks like the day it left the factory, and plays great.
