I just thought MMD members might be interested to know of a service
that helps solve problems.
I had a cylinder musical box with a very badly damaged coloured tune
sheet in the lid which could not be repaired. I contacted Nancy Fratti
and told her that I needed the one illustrated on page xx of the first
book written by H.A.V. Bullied, and she simply sent a new one of that
design for me to write the tune titles on and then pin into the lid of
the box. Cost was only $11 including shipping to UK (less to USA, of
course).
The M.B.S.G.B. (Musical Box Society of Great Britain) will shortly
be issuing a third book written by H.A.V. Bullied which will, among
other things, contain pictures of over 200 tune sheets, so this will
certainly help you to find out which kind you should be using if you do
not have one at all. You simply find a dating graph for the make of
your box and, by using the serial number of your machine, you will find
the date it was made and therefore you will be able to look up which
type of tune sheet you need to find.
Details of this new book will be announced when it is ready so watch
this space.
