A friend has acquired a late 1930s Hammond player organ. The stack was
built by Aeolian-Skinner of Boston, and the Hammond portion, of course,
was built by Hammond in Chicago. Only around 200 of these things were
built. I recall that one is in a museum in Travers City MI as well as
one in the Nethercutt Collection, Sylmar CA.
Does anyone have any solid information (or source) on what the vacuum
regulation should be set? We have it on around 16" to 20" suction,
and all seems to work fairly well, once the stacks Hammond contacts
burned through the oxidation. The stack was rebuilt about 20 years
ago.
Also, is there a source for rolls? One can stand just so much of
"Ave Maria", "Sanctus", and "The Old Rugged Cross". Yawn...!
Thanks for any help on the subject.
