Phil Jamison wrote in 000121 MMD about his 11" key-wind music box:

Phil, if yours has the typical set-up, the box has four thinner pieces
of wood that box in the glass and come up above the main body of the
box about 3/8".
This is how it works: slide the glass to the right (or left), then pull
up on the opposite panel of wood. You will find that one side or the
other will lift out of the box and then you can slide the glass free of
the top. The four pieces should have mitered corners and if the wood is
dry (not swollen) is should release fairly easy.
