Dear MMDs, Curiously enough, some problems linked with the renovation
of the Musee des Arts et Metiers (CNAM) in Paris, which is due to
reopen to the public within a few weeks, prevent me to update my web
site Musica Mecanica which is hosted on this museum's web site. Of
course, the existing web pages of Musica Mecanica remain accessible on
the web, with a general listing of associations and museums throughout
the world, at http://www.cnam.fr/museum/musica_mecanica/
So I think it might be useful to publish here a listing of the events
and festivals I know will happen in 2000 in Europe, and especially in
France. So, here we are :
Agenda of mechanical music events in Europe for year 2000
Compiled January 20th, 2000, by Philippe Rouille (it should appear and
be regularly updated in the Agenda of the web site musica mecanica as
soon as possible).
Sources of info : AAIMM, GSM, KDV, Musica Mecanica, varia.
Use this information as you like, but try and mention the sources of
info above. Thank you.
Although the following information was carefully checked, I strongly
recommend to call the organizers of an event before traveling there,
in case of any errors or changes or cancellation. Usually (but not
always !), when calling or faxing from outside a European country, you
should not dial the (0). Just try and listen to what happens ...
When calling from the USA to Europe, do not forget the time difference!
Of course, there are certainly many other events than those included in
the following list. Ask the local mechanical music associations in each
country you intend to visit.
If you notice any omissions or errors, please tell me at <rouille@cnam.fr>
