Thanks for the holiday tips! I went to our nearest Sam's Club, and
found they had about a dozen of the "deluxe" Mr. Christmas music boxes
left, priced now at about $38 with tax! Yesterday, my wife and I were
at another store, and saw the cheaper version at a huge Christmas
store, only the display one left, for over $50. It sure looked cheap
and, as some of you said, it sounded that way also.
Last year, I got some great bargains the day after Christmas as a
result of your advice. I look forward to future notice, and I hope
whoever suggested he would be making additional discs will carry out
the plans to do that. I would happily buy more if they were available.
Happy New Year to all!

[ Here's a summary of the info about the 20-note interchangeable disc
[ music box in MMDigest recently. Two different models exist, both
[ packaged by "Mr. Christmas":
[
[ 1. The simpler version is called "Holiday Symphonium", housed in a
[ simple square case without glass; the discs are stored in a pocket
[ inside the solid wood lid; 16 Christmas songs included.
[
[ 2. The fancier version is called "Holiday Music Box", with simulated
[ beveled glass on the top; housed in a large case with slots at the
[ right of the movement for storing the discs; comes with 12 Christmas
[ songs and 4 secular tunes.
[
[ 3. The related paper-strip-playing movement was sold last year as
[ "Music in Motion".
[
[ In 991215 MMD is the long list of stores which sell the music box.
[ The basic 20-note movement is marketed by Sankyo Seiki (Hong Kong).
