Dear MMD'ers, The Kring van Draaiorgelvrienden (the Dutch society
for the preservation of mechanical organs) issues a quarterly named
"Het Pierement". We hear a lot of positive things about our magazine.
It is, however, published in the Dutch language and we cannot expect
our readers abroad to take a course in Dutch, a language that is
(according to what we have been told) nearly impossible to master for
anyone who lives above sea level, although more than 20 million people
can speak it!
We have a growing number of members outside the Netherlands, and there-
fore we have started to translate the main articles of the magazine on
the Internet. We expect the readers to have the magazine, so there are
no pictures with the text. The articles and summaries can be found on
the KDV web site: http://www.travel.to/kdv.nl
When you choose the pages in English (Union Jack in the right upper
corner) and click the "magazine" button you will find a summary of
all magazine articles from 1997. Translated articles will appear as
hyperlinks. Following these hyperlinks will lead you to the summaries
or translations. We hope to improve the accessibility of our magazine
this way.
A merry Christmas to you all, and best regards from the Netherlands,
Hans van Oost, KDV
