Polyphon Won't Stop Automatically
By Charles Kossman

I have an upright coin activated Polyphon which won't stop
automatically at the end of playing a disk. I can't seem to solve
that problem. Can anyone suggest how to fix it ?

I bought it about 25 years ago in London. It always stopped at the
end of a disk play for about 8 years or so. After that, it has never
stopped after playing a disk. I have never seen or noticed anything
falling out of it's works. There is a little loose spring inside and
I have occasionally fiddled with it when I would get the urge, but to
no avail. I somehow think that something must have somehow fallen out
broken.

I wonder if I should borrow a camera somewhere and then take and scan
a few pictures of the works and send those pictures by email to any
MMD'er who might perhaps suggest what I need to do to make it stop
(Automatically). After all, I now have a bargain scanner and the urge
to try again .

I asked about this some time back and even may have had a reply which
unfortunately got lost in a computer crash. I am not a very good
photographer but, after all these years, I think that a little more
effort on my part here might reward me. Why leave a nice looking but
improperly working Polyphon to my kids? They might never forgive me.

Hopefully one or more of the MMD experts will come up with an answer.
Then I will look for a photographer or even try taking the pictures
myself.

Best regards to all.

Charles H Kossman

PS: I took the pictures of the inside of the Polyphon and will have
them developed shortly.
