FS: Norris and Hyde Transposing Piano

Karl -- Looking for a buyer of a Norris and Hyde transposing keyboard
piano made in 1880's, in Boston, low serial number, good condition,
been in my home for 40 years.

Max Mickey - Mickeyfix@aol.com

[ Irving Berlin played the piano only in F-sharp, on the black keys,
[ and said that his transposing piano was one-of-a-kind! They _are_
[ rare in the States; apparently most were made on special order by
[ Heintzman of Canada. I played a giant vertical transposing Heintz-
[ man, with a fine sound, many years ago in Virginia City, Nevada.
[ In order to move the keyboard six positions either direction, the
[ piano case and soundboard are widened, and that enables bass strings
[ which are longer than in the typical grand piano. -- Robbie
