Michele, I saw your listing in the MMD requesting information on a
200C2 jukebox made in the 40s. I know just enough about jukeboxes to
get me in trouble. So here we go with my comments and I hope they are
some use to you.
-- In the 1940's most of the Seeburg jukeboxes were set up to play
78 rpm records, since 45s did not come around until the early 1950s.
-- The jukeboxes during this period only had the ability of playing
either 12 or 24 records, not the 100 records or 200 songs (based on
double sided records).
-- If you found a 200-play Seeburg set up to play 45s in a cabinet
box, the juke box was most likely made in the mid 1950s. Some of these
models were used in cafes with wall box units located at each table.
Other cabinet models had internal manual switches that allowed for
continuous plays (used in stores as background music). In this style
jukebox they had the ability of playing 33, 45 and 78 rpm records.
The later of these two models are the least desirable in the jukebox
collector market.
Hope this helps.
