Introduction & Aeolian Musette Player Piano
By George Husson

Hello, all, I just acquired an Aeolian Musette player piano. It is
in pretty fair condition and I was playing rolls like crazy last night.
In the beginning it was automatically rewinding the rolls, but after
a few rolls, I had to initiate it.

Of course there is no user's manual with this piano. I am very curious
about the buttons I know nothing about. There is one on the left hand
side, a dial that says HI and LO; I think this has something to do with
the amount of vacuum pressure.

The little white button below it I've figured out; it starts the motor
going. Then the lever to the right hand side is pretty self-explana-
tory: play and reroll. However, I have to keep my finger on it,
pressing toward reroll because it has a tendency to creep on back to
play and then begin playing during rewind.

Then there are the buttons near the keys. If I remember correctly
there is a bass and treble button. Next to that there's a lever that
says Loud and Pedal (I think). Over to the right is the tempo control.
Finally, under the keyboard on the left hand side there is a plunger-
like device. God knows what that one does.

If anyone can give me a hand on what the heck I'm doing I would be very
appreciative. Better yet, if anyone has a manual or can give me a
photocopy of a manual, that would be great.

By the way, I am a computer projects manager by day, and a church
organist by night. This is strictly for fun! I am located in San
Francisco. I look forward to learning lots from participating on this
list. Thanks!
