Robbie asked about the song "Roll 'Em Girls". I have the roll on
Connorized, #7850, with the composers listed as "Heath, Marr &
Fletcher", and played by Bud Earl. This is an extremely busy roll,
but the melody is always prominent, and is good "show-off" roll.
I got my copy from one of the roll auctions (I forget which one),
and it seems to appear in them with some regularity; I imagine most
roll producers at the time issued some version of it.
The roll was indeed recorded by QRS. According to the Billings
Rollography, it was recorded by J. Lawrence Cook in January, 1926,
as QRS 4974. Incidentally, the Connorized roll also is dated January,
1926, but the music copyright date is 1925. Interesting...
I am enclosing a scanned image of the Connorized roll label.
Regards from Texas, where it's too hot to be November (low temps
are above the normal highs!)

[ Thanks for the label image, Bryan, it's very nice. I'll add it to
[ the Connorized page at the MMD Music Media site.
[
[ I'd like images of the same song on the other brands, too -- it will
[ be funny seeing the same name on the different web pages. MMDers may
[ send images to me at <editor@foxtail.com>. I prefer "True Color" or
[ 24-bit color, 300 dpi, saved as a *.bmp or *.tif file. Then I can
[ edit the image and reduce the file size so that it displays quickly
[ at the web page. -- Robbie
