Grinnell Bros. Player Piano
By Dale Houser

Hello All, in MMD 991008 visitor <tizit@webtv.net> asked for some
info on a Grinnell Bros player piano with a number 13296 on the back.

The 10th edition of the Pierce Piano Atlas notes Grinnell Bros was
established as an organ manufacturer in 1882 in Detroit, Michigan, and
started making pianos in 1902. They also made Lenard, Leonard Clayton,
Playtona, Holly & Uxbridge reed organs. In 1995 Samick built some
pianos for Grinnell Brothers in Dearborn Heights, Michigan.

The last serial number given in the Atlas for Grinnell Bros pianos
is 58890 for the year 1960.

The Atlas indicates that a piano with a serial number of 13296 would
have been manufactured in 1916.

Hope this helps.
