In the 991005 digest, Joyce Brite was kind enough to congratulate me
on the Q. David Bowers Award which I received this year from the MBSI,
as gently announced by Ed Gaida on Oct. 3rd.
Of course, I was very pleased with this award, but I really want to
explain what it means to me (and to the MBSI), and that is the subject
of my second message to the MMD to-day.
I hope someone will report on this Philadelphia convention of the MBSI,
as it was really a very interesting and convivial event: good enter-
tainment, visits to good collections, a large mart, very high quality
conferences and workshops, and of course an occasion to meet many
interesting people. I am going tomorrow for the weekend to Bruchsal,
Germany, where there will be the annual meeting of the German Society
[GSM], with the presence of more than 80 members of the MBSI (and a few
French, Dutch and English people too !).
