I have had extensive help from Craig Brougher, Al Pebworth, Andy Taylor
and Art Reblitz, just to name a few! I am always very careful to thank
them for taking the time out of their busy schedule to respond to my
questions. Just ask them, and they will tell you I have let them know
how much I appreciate the time. I realize that they have a life out-
side of "Web Advice." Some of these guys have helped me when no one
else would.
I would love to spend a few days in their shops and just watch. Don't
say a word, just let me _see_ you do it. I can read about how to do
things, but to actually see it conveys the most information.
Craig gave the most enjoyable workshop at the MBSI meeting in Charlotte
last year. The reason was he had taken the time to create a video.
Sure, he could have told us all how it works, but I did not have the
knowledge base to follow a lecture.
I also understand that he has a series of Ampico videos out which
covers the Ampico pump, and the Amphion Ampico installation and regula-
tion. Now, in my opinion, this is the way to go. You would not have
to be fancy and you can make the tapes as the orders come in, eliminat-
ing almost _all_ of the overhead experienced with book publishing.
Yes, you would still need a good outline, but that would be about it.
If someone had a Duo-Art video out I would need it _yesterday_!
How about it! There are a number of you reading this posting that
could easily make a Duo-Art or other video in your sleep. I do know
that one of you are interested in making a pin block replacement video,
and I hope to be able to do the video. Yes, it takes some time, but
not nearly as much as writing a book, plus there is more than twice the
information conveyed. Wouldn't it be great to have a video library
detailing every aspect of not only the average player, but also the
reproducing pianos as well. It can be done!
