Organ Rally in Southern California
By Frank and Shirley Nix

To all the MMDers who love the sounds of fairground organs, monkey
organs, and all that good stuff: Southern California AMICA and MBSI
chapters are putting on another organ rally in Fullerton at the
Arboretum October 16 and 17 in conjunction with their arborfest. We
have a lot of fun at this site, and you will, too.

This is a great family outing, with music around the lake from our
group, booths and entertainment all over the Arboretum, and in the past
there has been a carriage ride. What more can you ask for?

There are LOTS of things for the kids to do...from exhibits of live
animals (touchable, most of them), insects, and crafts. For Mom there
are lots of garden exhibits...

We'll have fairground organs, monkey organs, band organs, and perhaps
even a Calliope. We're hoping to set up a Music Box display near the
entrance.

So come out and take part in the festivities, and come by and say hello
when you do. Our group will be around the lake in the back... You
should be able to hear us before you see us. From the 57 Freeway take
Yorba Linda west to Associated, turn left and follow the arrows into
the arboretum parking lot. The hours are 10 - 4 both days.

[ This should be a great Rally. The Arboretum is beautiful in its own
[ right. There are lots of interesting instruments owned by
[ collectors in the area, and based on previous events in the
[ area there should be lots to hear, and plenty of friendly
[ owners to talk to. I'm looking forward to it. -- Jody
