Hello,
My name is Jack Steiner, I live in Ohio. I am just your average citizen
and woodworker but my son is a musician who wants a calliope. I can't
find one that we could even begin to afford. So if I could find plans
I would attempt to build one that would probably be powered by air. I
need detailed plans for the keyboard, valving, and pipes. If anyone
could help it would be appreciated. Perhaps someone knows where to find
a set of plans somewhere.
[ Bob Stanoszek used to publish a set of plans for an air Calliope
[ that was "Tangly-ish" in finished appearance. I purchased a set
[ of these plans a long time ago and was quite happy with them.
[ However, I must warn the reader that there's some educated
[ interpolation required. This is a big project. Bob reported
[ his new address and telephone area code in Digest 1998.03.10:

[ Robbie is in the process of trying to arrange for a set of
[ plans for a Steam Calliope to be posted on the MMD Website.
[ Building and operating a steam calliope is a major undertaking
[ and requires special skills to do it safely.
[
[ There's a collection of additional information about calliopes
[ posted on the MMD website at: http://mmd.foxtail.com/Calliope/
[ Be sure the check out Carl Freiling's "wood whistle" calliope
[ pictures on this page. Carl built this calliope from scratch
[ without plans! -- Jody
