ESTMIM maintains a 3 manual, 11 rank Wurlitzer Theatre Pipe Organ, Opus
#1143 made and originally installed in 1925 in the BF-RKO Keiths Theatre
in downtown Syracuse. In 1964, when the theatre was to be demolished,
the organ was removed, and installed in the Harriet May Mills Building on
the State Fairgrounds. Through the Greater Syracuse Chamber Of Commerce,
State Officials, State Fair Officials and the then "Syracuse Theatre
Organ Society", the "Empire Theatre" as we know it today was born as the
very first "year-around" State Fair attraction, presenting theatre organ
concerts. Since 1966 ESTMIM has been the first museum of it's kind to be
Chartered by the New York State Board Of Regents as an Educational and
Nonprofit organization.

[ Philip, Thanks for the information on this. I have a personal love
[ of theatre organs and met David Wasson through a local theatre organ
[ society event. Later that led to my meeting Mike Ames, so there
[ definitely is a "connection" for me.
