Hello to Philip Jamison: a little late reply, about that 24-volt motor
you may be looking for. [990812 MMDigest]
24 volts is a common voltage for solenoids, linear actuators and
stepper motors, as well as DC direct-drive motors. I'm an engineer,
so there are plenty of list-price distributors out there where you can
find motors but I often find such things a lot cheaper at gray-market
surplus electrical/electronics providers such as:
All Electronics (http://www.allcorp.com)
All-Tronics (www.alltronics.com)
C&H Sales (www.candhsales.com)
Marlin Jones (www.mpja.com)
and one maybe everyone would enjoy,
American Science and Surplus (www.sciplus.com)
They all generally have motors of every type and description, as well
as electronics stuff for the MIDI guys, lighting parts and pieces,
mechanical linkages, belts and pulleys, turntable motors, spindles,
parts, optics -- a little of everything, and at good bargain-basement
surplus prices, too.
Usually you can request a free catalog by mail right on the web.
Enjoy!
