Seek Kohler & Campbell Player Action Parts
By Dean Moore
I found a Kohler & Campbell upright player with the Standard Pneumatic
player mechanism that had never been touched for a friend to tackle for
his first project. I went go over to his house every few weeks and
would show him what was to be done next and would leave with the
understanding that he would only go so far and then would stop until
I came over again and checked his work and show him what to do next.
He has done a nice job (it has taken him close to a year) to refinish
the outer case and to completely rebuild the player. The last thing he
decided to do was to have the pedals and other hardware replated or
polished depending on the finish and type of metal by a major company
here in St. Louis MO, then he could finish assembling it and finally
hear it play. He went over to pick up all of the parts and they have
lost or misplaced the four blocks that hold the pedal assembly to the
bottom of the piano. The company has offered to have these made for
him but would need one for a sample.
I am hoping that someone out amongst all of you might have a set that
you no longer need (or one that can be borrowed so that a set can be
manufactured) so that he can finally hear his piano.
I do not have a book to tell me the year of manufacture, but the serial
number is #632225 if this helps anyone.
Just trying to help,
Dean Moore
