Hi all,
Orchestrelles seemed to have been dated in pencil on the front of one
of the middle tone ranks, on the treble side. To see it you have to
remove the swells and search carefully. I didn't notice mine until I
was told where to look and there it was: 1-1-98.
Also, the serial numbers are stamped into one of the rear channel
boards (at the back of the instrument, with the 1000 screws!).
My Model V is not in a typical case either. The columns next to the
keyboard are Corinthian and have gilt capitals. The columns below are
double and are Ionic with carved mahogany capitals. Also the fretwork
is gilded brass. I don't know what period or style of furniture one
would call it, but it is very "architectural".
