I am the proprietor of the Antique Phonograph Supply Co. at
http://www.antiquephono.com/
I am no longer able to have varnish transfers produced for phonograph
restorers. Like so many trades needed for authentic restoration of
early 20th century devices, this one seems to be aging into obscurity.
I learned about the varnish transfers through my participation in
player piano restoration, so I hope I can rely on piano restorers to
provide some fresh leads.
Are there companies that produce varnish / solvent transfers ? Or,
are there appropriate modern substitutes available ?
