I took the train into New York yesterday and, to my surprise,
workmen were assembling a large carousel inside Grand Central Station.
Apparently, it is newly built by students at the School for Visual
Arts and, rather than horses, it has various historical figures.
It is unclear as to whether it will have a voice or not. It will
be there from August 6 to September 9 and you can find out more at
http://www.grandcentralterminal.com/
It would be interesting to learn more about the genesis of this project
and what, if anything, they will do about a band organ. Unfortunately,
I live in RI and won't be back during this time frame.
