I am in the process of restoring my Italian Street Barrel Piano.
Everything is going very well. After I had a closer look at the pins
of the barrel, it turns out that many of the pins are badly worn out,
so I have to replace them, maybe all of them. If at all possible I
want to avoid doing the "slave work" to cut and shape all these many
pins from raw material. Does anybody know where I could get the pins
from?
The original pins are made of steel, shaped rectangular, cross section
is about 1 x 1,4 mm, the length is about 18 mm. (I think the new ones
should be a little bit longer, ca. 20 mm). Is there a source for such
pins? Or at least for the rectangular material?
It would be very helpful for me to get any helpful information.
