Beckwith Player Date
By Damon Atchison

I took some parts out of a Beckwith style 25 player piano. The serial
number was 58316. Those of you with a Pierce Piano Atlas will notice
that nowhere in Beckwith's existence did any of their pianos begin with
those numbers. I read it over and over and it clearly started with
58. I was reading it in the wood where it had been stamped in the
hole in the plate above the tuning pins. This _was_ the serial number.

Any ideas as to how there could be a Beckwith with this unlisted number?

[ Maybe the piano bears a serial number for a related brand made by
[ the same parent company. -- Robbie
