Seek Vacuum Pump for Wurlitzer 125 Band Organ
By Dan Armstrong
Good morning; I'm looking for some info on two instruments that will
be coming to my shop for repairs in September.
The first one is a Wurlitzer Style 125 Band Organ that was rebuilt in
April of 1960 by Logan Showcraft of Miami FL. I'm trying to locate at
least a drawing of the original suction pump (that's been replaced with
a Shop-Vac), the age of the organ (approximately) and a ballpark figure
of what it's worth. I know there's been quite a thread running on band
organs so maybe I can get some ideas here.
The second one is a Seeburg Orchestrion (keyboardless) original, as
far as I can tell, rebuilt sometime in the past. The serial number
is 54497, my Atlas gives me no clue as to the date of manufacture.
I remember someone saying something about Seeburg dates being ambiguous
due to duplicate numberings anyway.
I need to come up with a ballpark figure for worth on this one as well.
I'll be searching other places for these figures while I'm at it, but
I'd appreciate the help if I can get it. The person that owns these
needs to have a good valuation for insurance purposes so that he can get
them properly insured.
Thanks,
Dan Armstrong
