Dear Sue, I saw Karl Ellison's note in 990705 MMD concerning
roll arrangements by Wm. Christopher O'Hare, and wanted to forward
to you the limited information which I have.
I've always admired O'Hare's tunes, in particular his cakewalks
such as "Plantation Pastimes" and "Levee Revels," which are among
the finest composed in the idiom. I'm copying this note to Karl and
to MMD as well for general information to others interested in these
roll arrangements.
The following rolls are inscribed "arranged by W.C. O'Hare" on the
label. Each is a lengthy medley roll, the individual selections of
which are listed in order of appearance within the medley.
