In response to Harald Mueller's request for information about punching
music for 20 note organs...
Peter Willis of England, at http://websites.ntl.com/~p.willis/ has
a web site offering information about a mechanical punching machine.
He publishes an introductory book on how to mechanically punch music
rolls for all types of 20 note organs. The book includes timing
charts, how to construct a manual Music Writer Board, and a simple
plan for a mechanical punch machine.
I found Peter's information to be very easy to follow and have had
no problems producing great music for my organ from his instructions.
John Smith site has information about ordering more detailed plans for
a electromechanical punch at
http://freespace.virgin.net/chris.doe/jsmith/jsmith.htm
I have Peter Willis' material and have made the John Smith punching
machine and am happily punching my own music. Even though the John
Smith machine calls for bigger holes to fit the needs of his organ,
with a few modifications, it can be changed to fit the smaller holes
of most tracker bars. Peter Willis also has music you can order and
punch yourself.
Music roll material can be ordered from Melvyn Wright:

Peter Willis, Melvyn Wright, and John Smith (contact via Chris Doe)
are all in England.
