Joyce Brite's note about an absurd piano picture brought to mind
one of my own.
In the early 70's, when I was a teenager, I was buying and selling
pianos and player pianos. I had an opportunity to acquire an upright
pumper only a few blocks from my home. At the time, I didn't have a
good moving vehicle for pianos so, since it was so close, I decided
to just push it down the street. I got one of my friends to help,
we put it on a cart and did it.
A photographer for the local newspaper just happen by when we were
doing this. To our amazement, we ended up on the front page of the
Fargo Forum (Fargo, ND) the next day. The photo is taken through
a windshield, showing another car passing us. There really wasn't
_that_ much traffic, but the photo implied otherwise.
If anyone is interested, I have the picture, somewhere.
