Seek Orgue de Barbarie With Reeds
By Paolo Becherini

Can anyone help this fellow? I'm not familiar with the organ
he mentions.

 From: valval@penteres.it (Paolo Becherini)

Dear Sirs, I am a fancier of mechanical music; my name is Paolo
Becherini and I live in Italy near to Florence. I wish to know if you
can procure for me a small organ. I search for a particular organ that
is called 'Organ of Barberia'.

This organ is not built in Italy and I must to ask you as soon as
possible to send me a catalogue and price list, so I can make an order.

Please do attention when you will research the organ that I want,
because this particular organ can be in two different models, of canes
[pipes] or of reeds, but I want only the Organ of Barberia of reeds.
If it is possible I would like an organ to bring to the shoulder.

In the catalogue and in the price list please also itemize the cost of
the single songs, and send me also the conditions of payment and the
conditions of delivery.

You can contact me by address, telephone, fax and e-mail:

I look forward to receive your letter and your catalogue, and I thank
you in advance.

Yours faithfully
Paolo Becherini

[ Mr. Becherini seeks a small grind-organ with reeds, instead of
[ pipes, which he can easily carry with a strap around his neck.
[ I heard mention of this style of monkey organ in Waldkirch, but I
[ didn't hear or see one. It may be a relatively rare organ (and
[ probably heavy, too!). -- Robbie
