Operating Pressure of Tangley Calliope
By Bill Black

Hi, Here is the information I've gathered from the name plates about
the pressure ranges of the Tangley Calliopes. [Pressure is
pounds-force per square inch (psi), blower speed is revolutions per
minute (rpm).] The info is arranged is this way:

Model/serial number/pressure/blower speed/tuning pressure

  A-43 #813 5/8 to ? ? 3/4 psi
  A-43 #957 5/8 to 1 700 1 psi
 CA-43 #980 5/8 to 1-1/4 745 1-1/4 psi
 CA-43 #990 5/8 to 1 700 3/4 psi
 CA-43 #992 1/4 to 5/8 700 3/8 psi
 CA-43 #1180 5/8 to 1 700 3/4 psi
 CA-43 #1244 5/8 to 1 710 3/4 psi

The calliope plans by Bob Stanoszek say that the original operating
pressure of the Tangley was 5/8 to 1 psi. He voiced them on 1 psi
pressure.

Dave Miner's Calliopes (info from his brochure):

 CA-43 - air pressure: 1 psi
 ST-43 (theatre special): 1/4 psi

I was unable to gather any info about the original Tangley Theatre
Special models. Thanks to everyone who sent me information.
