Bugs in Music Box
By Dave Zeffertt

Jim Brady asks how he can kill bugs living inside the wood of his music
box. Well, I was told by a local museum, here in Vancouver, that they
have a special chamber for killing such bugs and varmints. It is
simply a freezer and they place the infected unit inside, and freeze
it for a couple of days. They say that kills the bugs and the larvae.

If it works, it is effective and would do minimum trauma to the piece.
However, I don't know if a music box case (even with the movement
removed first), would be more susceptible to damage from freezing than
a piece of furniture.
