Isis - A False Atomaton
By Michael Woolf

Confirming all that has been stated: I first saw Isis at Harrah's in
Reno. We renewed acquaintance again some years later after restoration
by mechanical genius John Gaughan, who brought it to the MBSI Conven-
tion at Teaneck, N.J. It was demonstrated along with other mechanical
marvels.

One point needs to be clarified: the figure belongs in the category
known as "false automatons." Now, as a magician I am sworn to secrecy
(!), but let me just state that Isis requires the services of a human
assistant.
