Reed Playing Monkey Organ
By Dave Ingalls

I recently purchased a reed playing monkey or hand organ with a
medallion on the front that reads:

    VACLAV SLAVIK
    HONOVICICH
    HOTOVITEL HARMONIK

It has a pinned barrel and plays 28 notes. It is similar in style and
size to a small Molinari hand organ but has a rather plain grain
painted case rather than the fancy Molinari inlay work. It appears to
be from the turn or the century or earlier.

Is anyone familiar with this organ or the firm that made it? I am unable
to find anything about it in any of the references that I have.

Dave
