Billy Mayerl "Echo" Dance Rolls
By Adam G. Ramet

Dear MMDers

Recently I've heard several Echo dance rolls recorded by British
novelty pianist Billy Mayerl (W Mayerl on the rolls). Mayerl
compositions are always popular but the Echo rolls are Mayerl playing
non-Mayerl pieces in an early version of his unmistakable pianistic
style. The best was "Non-Stop Dancing" from Jerome Kern's "The Beauty
Prize" (which has the line in the show "...pianola playing non-stop..."
most aptly!)

How many Mayerl played by Mayerl rolls are there?

Has anyone ever made a Mayerl rollography?

Best regards

Adam Ramet
