I am sure that Philippe is not -- and will not be -- the only person
to assume that the Schott CD is nothing new, but merely a CD version of
"Encyclopedia of Automatic Musical Instruments" by Q. David Bowers.
I would think that a more clever, more descriptive, and more distinc-
tive title than the one planned could be devised by the editors at
Schott. They have a wonderful opportunity here to contrast, in the
chosen title, the electronic medium they are using to convey their
information with the mechanico-pneumatic medium of the instruments they
describe. But -- ho-hum -- this tired-sounding, uninteresting title
is all they have come up with?
